Our Commitment

Northern Lights Lottery is committed to promoting responsible gaming. While lottery games are meant to be entertaining, we recognize that for some individuals, gambling can become problematic. We provide tools and resources to help you play responsibly.

What is Problem Gambling?

Problem gambling is gambling behavior that disrupts your personal, family, or work life. Warning signs include:

  • Spending more money or time gambling than you can afford
  • Gambling to escape problems or relieve anxiety
  • Lying about or hiding gambling activities
  • Borrowing money or selling possessions to gamble
  • Neglecting responsibilities due to gambling
  • Feeling guilty or anxious about gambling
  • Trying unsuccessfully to cut back or stop
  • Chasing losses by gambling more

Responsible Gaming Tips

Set Limits

  • Decide how much money you can afford to lose before you play
  • Set a time limit for gaming sessions
  • Never gamble with money needed for bills or expenses
  • Don't chase losses - accept that losing is part of the game

Stay in Control

  • Only gamble for entertainment, not to make money
  • Take regular breaks during play
  • Don't gamble when upset, depressed, or under the influence
  • Balance gambling with other activities

Understand the Odds

  • All lottery games are games of chance - outcomes are random
  • The odds are always in favor of the house
  • Past results do not influence future outcomes
  • There is no system or strategy that guarantees winning

Our Responsible Gaming Tools

Deposit Limits

Set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits on your account. Once reached, you cannot deposit more until the period resets.

Time Limits

Set session time limits to remind you how long you've been playing. You'll receive notifications when approaching your limit.

Self-Assessment

Take our confidential self-assessment quiz to evaluate your gambling behavior and identify potential concerns.

Reality Checks

Receive periodic reminders about how long you've been playing and how much you've spent.

Take a Break

Temporarily suspend your account for 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or longer. During this time, you cannot log in or play.

Self-Exclusion

Permanently close your account if you feel you cannot control your gambling. This action cannot be reversed for a minimum of 6 months.

How to Set Limits

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Go to "Account Settings"
  3. Select "Responsible Gaming"
  4. Choose your desired limits
  5. Limits take effect immediately

Note: Limit increases require a 24-hour cooling-off period. Limit decreases are instant.

Age Restrictions

You must be 19 years or older to play Northern Lights Lottery. We verify age through government-issued ID. Anyone found to be underage will have their account closed and funds returned.
